Bios-Therapy, Physiological Systems for Health SpA operates in the research and development of new molecular complexes obtained from natural substances by means of biotechnological processes, for the health of man, animals and plants, studying and selecting natural raw materials and all production processes from seed to finished product; specific systems composed of RNA and DNA are particularly researched and validated for their rebalancing activity in living organisms. The fields of application of the substances obtained, both single and mixed, are mainly aimed at degenerative, metabolic and oncological diseases.
We offer a placement opportunity in Bios-Therapy, Physiological Systems for Health SpA for a Computational Biologist.
The successful candidate will establish the bioinformatics core and allow for the coherent development of the long term strategy as well as sustain daily activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Able to design, maintain and translate extensive databases into knowledge, the successful candidate will perform biological research by applying the latest existing analysis tools from the field of mammalian gene expression and other -omic approaches while developing new relevant tools and bioinformatics pipelines.
· A canonical member of the lab, the successful candidate is expected to interact on a daily basis with wet-lab scientists in order to generate personal relationships and the relevant technical environment necessary to enable a comprehensive Systems Biology approach.
· The successful candidate is expected to work independently, in the framework of collaborations with international academic institutions.
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational or Molecular Biology
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and/or R
- Experience in analysing "omics" data, with a focus on mammalian gene expression, miRNA expression and Microbiota
- Experience in single-cell RNA-Seq analysis
- Ability to develop and maintain pipelines for Omics data analysis, including quality control, data preprocessing/cleaning, data exploration, and downstream analysis
- Knowledge on workflows for Omics data integration and Biomarker discovery using Machine Learning algorithms
- Experience with version control e Analysis Documentation tools
- Familiarity with data mining techniques in large public repositories
- Familiarity with Unux operating system
- Fluency in English

o Familiarity with Shiny
